The upper class in Lima is rather small, comprising of less than 5% of the population. The middle class however is much larger and much more diverse including working families, business and commercial occupations, bureaucrats, teachers, military personnel, medical, legal, and academic professionals, and so forth. These differences in occupation, along with difference in racial ethnic considerations, education, residence, and wealth make for a very diverse middle class population.
San Isidro is the financial district in Lima. Many banks and global corporations have offices here. It is also home to many of the wealthy or higher-middle class residents.
